Bright deep ruby colour. Subtle and subdued aromas of clove, spice and black cherry in a savoury style. Bone dry, mid weight and tannic in the mouth it is a chewy style that needs food to show its best.
No complaints here - quality drinking for 25 bucks.
Deliciously medium bodied, red fruits, char, peppery spice kicking on through. A lick of raspberry becomes more apparent with more time in the glass. Oak plays its hand, 30% of which was new French, sitting there for 22 months prior to bottling. Whilst the acid is faintly noticeable, the fruit delivered fills out well enough to hold its own. Long to finish with soft tannins, a long week at the office could make easy work of this. Drink now to eight years. Very good.
We wish to advise that as of February 1 our Cellar Door will be trading as normal, however the restaurant will not be operating and will be available for a new lessee to take the reins.
This is a great opportunity for an experienced restaurant operator to take over a growing customer base and be part of the exciting expansion plans for Shaw Vineyard Estate.
The venue is ideal for a restaurant, café and functions such as weddings and is located in the Canberra wine region amongst a picturesque country garden setting. Leasing enquiries welcome.
Visit our cellar door from Wednesday to Sunday and taste our range of wines. Also on display are a wonderful range of jams, olive oil, chocolates, sauces and mustards made by local businesses and from throughout NSW.
